Role: IT Asset manager
Location: Multiple (Denver, Co || Atlanta, GA || Pleasanton, CA)
About the Role
As a Software Asset Manager , you will lead the adoption of software asset management practices.
Your mission is to ensure the effective management of assets throughout their lifecycle, with the
aim of maximizing value, minimizing costs, and contributing to the attainment of strategic business
goals. You will be responsible for processes that facilitate the efficient and effective management of
IT assets. You will play a vital role in driving efficiency, reducing risk, and promoting long-term
sustainability.
Key responsibilities
Partner with the Procurement team on new software purchases and renewals.
Ensure timely engagement from Business Technology product owners and architects
throughout the process.
Identify opportunities for cost saving by removing duplicative capabilities
Monitor and promote adoption of policies and procedures for asset acquisition,
maintenance, and disposal
Maintain accurate, and up-to-date records of all software assets
Oversee data collection, cleaning, and migration processes to ensure accurate and complete
asset information
Provide training and support to users on utilizing the asset management system effectively
Generate and deliver regular reports on IT asset inventory, compliance, utilization, and costs.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of SAM processes, policies, and
procedures.
Maintain open communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on asset
management initiatives
About You
Basic qualifications:
8+ years of experience in technical IT Asset Management role , ideally within a large
technology company
6+ years of experience managing software assets
Other qualifications:
Experience designing IT software management processes
Proficiency ServiceNow Asset Management solutions
Experience in vendor management
Excellent organizational, collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience leading and successfully delivering cross-functional projects
Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong focus on delivering exceptional user experiences through technology
