Job Description

Fossil Creek Nursery, a leading provider of quality trees, shrubs, and plants, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tree Nursery Field Foreman and Loader Operator. This role is integral to our operations, providing leadership in the field and ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to the growth and development of our nursery.

Responsibilities

• Lead, teach, and maintain a safe working environment
• Direct activities in the nursery field
• Manage personnel effectively and efficiently
• Train and promote the development of subordinates in the best practices of the tree and plant nursery
• Monitor all tools, equipment, and machinery for needed maintenance
• Maintain a clean and safe nursery field
• Operate a small wheel loader and skid steer to load/unload trees
• Provide general help with the trees, shrubs, and plants, including some sales
• Unload trucks with a wheel loader or skid steer, place trees in the nursery, and retrieve the proper trees to load in customers vehicles or our own delivery vehicle

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Proficient equipment operating skills
• Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail-oriented
• Excellent attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
• Good time management skills; ability to work seasonal long hours & weekends
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background
• Punctual and dependable
