**Are you ready to join a growing team?** CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Closing Specialist I opening for our client in New York. **Location:** Remote **Duration:** 6 months **Overview:** CTG is seeking a Mortgage Closing Specialist I to act as a liaison in gathering information for Closing Disclosure (CD) issuance. This role involves collaboration with multiple stakeholders to meet closing deadlines and ensure data accuracy including homeowner, tax, fee, and payoff details. The position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks within a fast-paced environment. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Assign and review pipeline reporting and manage the title review inbox + Maintain consistent communication with all stakeholders involved in closing transactions including customers, brokers, settlement agents, loan officers, and internal departments + Obtain and verify closing-related documentation such as payoffs, subordination agreements, release documents, taxes, and insurance details + Conduct thorough reviews to ensure loans comply with state and federal guidelines + Perform verbal employment verifications for income-qualified borrowers + Track rate lock and document expiration dates to ensure timely action + Review loan records to validate readiness for CD preparation and ensure submitted documentation is complete and accurate + Communicate with Settlement Agents to collect necessary fee and contact information for CD purposes + Monitor and manage close dates to ensure alignment with projected schedules and provide updates as necessary + Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls in line with company policies and regulatory requirements + Support internal control standards and address audit findings in a timely manner + Foster an inclusive and professional environment that aligns with the M&T Bank brand + Perform additional related duties as assigned **Scope of Responsibilities:** This position requires frequent interaction with both internal and external customers, including borrowers, co-workers, and Settlement Agents, to support an efficient and seamless loan closing process. **Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:** This role does not include supervisory or managerial responsibilities. **Education and Experience Required:** + Strong closing skills required + Associate degree with a minimum of 1 year of business experience, or a combination of 1 year of M&T Closing experience and customer service experience + In lieu of a degree, 3 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience + Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing, and email software + Ability to make informed decisions based on available data + Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic mortgage environment + Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills + Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and work in a team setting + Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic **Education and Experience Preferred:** + Previous experience in mortgage closing with a lender, title company, or settlement agent + Familiarity with department software + Understanding of mortgage products, investor guidelines, and compliance regulations Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
