Position Summary:

Deli Clerks make sure customers have a great experience by keeping products available, greeting customers and offering timely , friendly, and caring service. Clerks make sure the Deli is clean, well-stocked, and looks good. They ensure our products and practices follow all safety rules. Additionally, they help out in other parts of the store.

Location: 740 East 7th Ave, Saint Paul, MN 55106

Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday 9:30am - 5:30pm. Must have flexibility to cover am and pm shifts.

Qualifications:

• Customer Service: Able to meet customer needs by providing excellent, welcoming, and timely service

• Communication : Able to effectively communicate with customers and team members; uses active listening, patience, and clear communication to ensure a respectful and professional experience
• Initiative: Able to take responsibility for creating great customer and team experiences

• Diversity and Inclusion: Able to contribute to a welcoming environment for customers and team members; respects people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities
• Math Skills: Basic math skills; ability to timely and correctly perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Retail and/or food industry experience
• Multilingual: Communicates in more than one language

Physical and Working Requirements:

The position involves frequent stationary tasks, along with regular movement within the deli and storage areas. Occasional positioning is required to access both low and high shelving, equipment, and products. The job also entails the frequent movement of containers weighing up to 50 lbs. Deli Clerks may occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to reach high shelving. Deli Clerks will utilize various equipment including but not limited to knives, slicers, and ovens. This role requires exchanging accurate information in person and over the phone. Additionally, Deli Clerks may occasionally work in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer and be exposed to sanitizer, cleaning products, natural molds, and loud noises. This position requires an individual to be at least 18 years old.
